It’s always strange when you find yourself confronted with the task of describing yourself. Or the bat, you’d think it would be easy to distill who you are into a collective of reasonably coherent sentences that would be riveting, thrilling, or at least impressive. But alas, as I’ve said to many folks, I’m not a writer. I’m not great with words. So, why am I writing a blog? Great question!

Let’s start at the beginning. I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada as a first generation Canadian in a family that is predominantly Jamaican. My father was a Pastor and my mother is a life-long Jesus follower as well. I grew up in a God-centred (Canadian spelling! *I hope* LOL) household where I came to know Jesus for myself.

I come from a very musical family. Almost every member of my family either sings or plays 1-N instruments. My parents would take me to Piano lessons every weekend while I self taught myself several other instruments. Music is a MAJOR passion in my life.

I went to the University of Toronto where I pursued and obtained my Bachelors in Applied Science in Computer Engineering. While in University, I spent a good deal of time as part of the National Society of Black Engineers where I contributed to many efforts to help elevate our local community and expose them to the fact that Engineering is an option for black folks.

Now, I’m currently residing in Seattle, Washington with my wife and daughter and I’m working for one of the most interesting companies on the planet – Amazon. I’ve been here since 2017 and I’ve had many great opportunities to learn and contribute to awesome projects.

So, what am I going to blog about …

Everything…  Hopefully…

I’ll be writing about interesting technical things, might do some music posts, might do some scripture related posts, or I might do some life related posts.

I plan to use this space to capture my thoughts on these different facets of my life so that I can hopefully help, or inspire, someone out there.

I’m looking forward to what the future has in store! Hope you’re willing to come on the ride with me.
